Flyin’ High In Hamilton!
On Tuesday, the Grade 6 TEAM School students enjoyed a great field trip to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. Over half of the aircrafts they saw are maintained in flying condition and are flown on a regular basis. It’s hard to believe that those planes were built over eighty years ago!
The Grade 6s also had an opportunity to go inside a Buffalo aircraft that was used during the Second World War to drop supplies and paratroopers. Students enjoyed listening to the stories about the Lancaster, which was used in the missions during the war. There are only two left in the world that can actually take flight and Hamilton is lucky to have one!
The day ended with the students building their own gliders and having a competition on whose could fly the furthest.
