Grade 6 Students Take A Trip Through Space
Grade 6 TEAM School students made the trek to the Ontario Science Centre last week to take part in a Space workshop and an IMAX film on the Humpback whales. During the workshop, students electronically voted, based on their knowledge, for the most likely scenarios in space. Video footage of the first moonwalk to present day images of Chris Hadfield and the Space Station demonstrated the progress of the space program. We saw Brean use thrust to propel himself in a circular motion, Matthew demonstrated the use of centripetal force to model the orbit of a satellite and Josh showed us the effects of a differential in air pressure. All the students enjoyed the IMAX experience.
