TEAM 2014 Terry Fox Run

It was a bright and sunny day, perfectly suited to outdoor activity, when TEAM School students and staff rallied around one of their favourite causes last Wednesday afternoon. They joined thousands of students across Canada in raising awareness and funds for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run. Some walked, some jogged, some ran, but all participated with a smile.
Mrs. Sawtschuk’s cowbell could be heard from across the field as she cheered on the runners who were running to honour family members, friends, and Terry.

Students at TEAM have been participating in the Terry Fox Run for more than 20 years with this year’s fundraising efforts totalling over $2200! This brings the grand total raised by TEAM students over the years to $105 631; well done TEAM!

Before the run approached, classes were in the midst of writing about their own personal hero and sharing with their school community, why this person was a hero to them. Members of the Community Outreach Club created a Hero Wall in the student staircase where all of the wonderful pieces of work are being displayed. The Hero Wall looks fantastic!
