They learn to form hypotheses, make observations, ask questions, and draw conclusions from their studies. Students learn about the scientific process by both observing teacher-demonstrated experiments and by taking part in hands-on labs. In Grades 7 and 8, students complete a Science Fair project researching a topic of their choice.

The music programme at TEAM focuses on developing an appreciation and love of music through creative expression. The curriculum is derived from current Orff philosophies. An emphasis is placed on exploring music through movement, rhythm, singing, listening, and, most importantly, enjoyment. Together these skills help develop a student’s coordination, directionality, focus, and socialization. A variety of instruments are introduced throughout the grades at TEAM School. These include Orff instruments, recorders, ukuleles, and bucket drums. Music is also an important part of the extracurricular programme at TEAM School. Activities offered include Glee Club, Jazz Band, Dance Club, as well as the annual year-end musical.

Art

At TEAM School, we value and celebrate creativity. It is our goal to foster confidence and an enjoyment of the arts in all of our students as they learn and practise artistic skills and techniques through dedicated art classes and in their homeroom classes. Our art teacher collaborates with homeroom teachers to plan activities that complement themes and concepts being studied. Students express themselves using a variety of media such as paint, clay, wire, and technology as they create and explore art pieces that focus on the elements of design (space, colour, value, texture, line, shape, and form). Student artwork is proudly displayed in the hallways of TEAM School.
